About: How Listings Will Be Verified

Find a Septic Pumper is a directory-in-progress of licensed septic pumping companies, organized by county, starting with the Birmingham, Alabama area. Our first guide covers Jefferson County.

How listings will be verified

We're building a directory of septic pumping companies for Jefferson County and nearby counties. It isn't live yet, and we haven't listed any companies on this page. When it launches, this is our plan:

• Licenses checked against official sources. Every listed pumper must appear with a Pumper license on the AOWB License Verification Search and list Jefferson County as a service county. We'll show the license number and the date we last checked.
• Local certificate noted. Where we can confirm a current JCDH Certificate of Competency, we'll say so. Where we can't, we'll say that too.
• No paid placement disguised as a ranking, and no made-up reviews or ratings. If a listing is ever sponsored, it will be clearly labeled.
• Corrections welcome. If a listing is wrong or out of date, we'll fix or remove it.

Licensing confirms that a pumper is qualified to do the work under state rules. It doesn't guarantee the quality of any one job, so still compare quotes and ask the questions above.

This page is general information, not legal or engineering advice. Rules and procedures can change. For decisions about a specific property, contact the Jefferson County Department of Health.
